Feba supports work amongst a nomadic people group of 1.5 million people in NE Africa. This mainly Muslim group spans three countries. Their lifestyle of constantly being on the move makes them especially difficult to reach and hampers church planting efforts. In recent months, flooding and conflict in the areas where they live have caused many to scatter and seek higher ground and new pastures. A daily radio programme is produced and broadcast in this language on short wave.

SUNDAY 16th October

Praise God for the opportunities to reach more and more people across NE Africa with the good news, through daily broadcasts in five local languages. Give thanks that many are hearing about Jesus for the very first time in their own heart language.

Please pray also for Bob Chambers as he takes part in the Cape Town marathon today (www.feba.org.uk/Marathon)

MONDAY 17th October

Feba's partner in NE Africa, Dawit*, produces short audio messages which he broadcasts each day via Telegram channels to around 5,200 followers. Sometimes he receives threats and insults, while at other times he receives encouraging words of praise and appreciation. Ask God to give Dawit wisdom, patience and strength to know how best to respond to the many messages he receives. (James 1:5)

Please pray also for the week-long annual gathering of the FEBC International Association that begins in Cape Town today, attended by George Gilbert (Chair) and Bob Chambers (CE) representing Feba UK.

TUESDAY 18th October

Dawit is currently planning a 10-day training course for 20 people in 2023 on ‘Film making and video production’. As well as providing technical training, the course is designed to promote the use of local languages to engage viewers with the scriptures. As mobile phone usage is increasing at a phenomenal rate in the region, Dawit is keen to help partners become confident in using new media platforms for the building of God's kingdom. Please pray for renewed vision and excitement about sharing the gospel among all those participating in this training course.

WEDNESDAY 19th October

Please pray for the new believers who have come to know Jesus through Feba's media and follow-up work in NE Africa. Some are experiencing severe persecution right now for believing in Jesus. Many have been rejected by their families and friends and forced to live in isolation by their communities. Pray for God's comfort and strength to help them persevere through these trials and difficulties. (James 1:12)

THURSDAY 20th October

Many of the programme producers and follow-up team members serve in very challenging situations where their personal safety is often at risk. Please pray for God's safety and protection over them as they risk their lives for the gospel and the expansion of His kingdom. (2 Thessalonians 3:3-5)

FRIDAY 21st October

Praise God for Dawit’s family. All his children are following Jesus and serving their local church in a variety of different ministries. Please pray for Dawit’s son who has recently graduated in computer science and engineering and is now looking for a job. Pray that God leads him to where he can be a blessing to others and show His love through his work and witness. (Isaiah 54:13)

SATURDAY 22nd October

Please pray for security and protection for Dawit, his family and all of Feba's partners and staff in the region. Drought, conflict, soaring food prices and failing harvests are making life in NE Africa extremely challenging for the vast majority of the population. Ask God to enable Dawit and his team be salt and light to those living without hope in what many must feel is a dark and broken world. (John 16:33)
