North East Africa (NEA) is a challenging region in so many ways. Feba UK partners in a variety of media projects where programmes are produced to address the physical, social and spiritual issues for audiences in remote communities, living in restrictive environments as well as those facing challenging life situations. Please pray for this region that has many tribal conflicts and is going through many changes.

SUNDAY 15th December

On this third Sunday in Advent, we thank God for the huge opportunity we have been given to help bring the good news of Jesus to isolated communities in North East Africa where many people are ‘walking in darkness’ and living without hope (Isaiah 9:2). As people hear the good news of Jesus for the first time in their heart language, may God’s truth shine like a light in their lives.

MONDAY 16th December

Recently there have been some terrifying tribal and religious conflicts in many parts of NEA. In October, around 80 people were killed and the majority were Christians. An evangelist was singled out and killed in a barbaric way in front of his wife and children. Please pray for God’s protection and for many more opportunities to bring healing and reconciliation through the gospel among different people groups in Jesus’ Name.

TUESDAY 17th December

Please pray for *Dawit and his family as he leads Feba’s ministry in this volatile and dangerous part of the world, particularly as *Dawit is often away from home and travelling to remote places across this vast region. Ask for wisdom as the team seeks opportunities to reach new areas and communities. Pray for the plans to start new listener groups and expand other areas of the mission.

WEDNESDAY 18th December

Please remember the listeners in NEA who often have to listen to programmes in secret. One listener called the team recently and said, “I found your station while I was searching for another programme. God has a way of meeting every person individually. Hearing the message in my own language touched my heart. The programme introduced me to Jesus as my personal Saviour”. Please give thanks for this brave person and pray that doors would open for him to be a loving, Christ-like witness in his community.

THURSDAY 19th December

Every month our partners in NEA send out 300 correspondence courses and over a thousand tracts to listeners in a language that is understood by the majority of people in the region. Please pray that as the message of the gospel is sent out, it will land in ‘good soil’ and bear fruit in many lives.

FRIDAY 20th December

In one country in particular we broadcast weekly to encourage believers who are suffering because of their faith in Christ. Recent reports show that around 700 people are migrating every day to a neighbouring country to escape persecution. Please ask God to intervene and bring justice for those who are suffering. Pray for those who remain that they would be salt and light to the nation in the midst of their suffering.

SATURDAY 21st December

One of the people groups our partners broadcast to number around 1.3 million and are 99.8% Muslim. Please pray for believers who live and work in these challenging places. Some of these communities are actively mobilising against Christian believers. People are even prepared to kill believers in their own family. Some are exploiting the instability within the region to cover up their violence and persecution.
