Just as Jesus cared for the whole person – body, mind and soul – our project partners in Nepal follow His example by addressing a wide range of issues with holistic solutions. Our partner radio stations, Afno FM, serve communities in Okhaldhunga (east Nepal) and Dadeldhura (west Nepal) sharing the good news and the personal transformation that only Jesus can bring.

SUNDAY 8th March

Praise God for the opportunities He has provided for our partners to serve communities in Nepal through radio. We thank God for the recent celebrations marking the fourth anniversary of Afno FM (Rukum) when the team were invited to visit the local hospital and share His love with the patients. Please pray for the three disabled people who received a wheelchair from the team thanks to the support they had received from listeners.

MONDAY 9th March

We praise God for Afno FM (Okhaldhunga), which has been ministering to prisoners in the district prison for 12 years. With many prisoners listening to programmes every day, especially the morning devotional from 5 to 6am, the team is hearing of lives changing in response to God’s word and His love.

TUESDAY 10th March

Please pray for the 52 Sherpa students who recently received school bags and essential stationery items from the Afno FM team during a recent visit to a local primary school. We thank God for all the local outreach initiatives our partner is carrying out in Nepal.

WEDNESDAY 11th March

Please pray for all the staff at Afno FM who are working tirelessly to transform communities through their wide-ranging radio programmes. Pray for their safety as they travel to different communities to meet and interview local people. Travel is not easy, particularly as there are no roads in many areas of Okhaldhunga, which means team members have to walk for several hours on difficult terrain before they can start interviewing and making radio programmes.

THURSDAY 12th March

Please pray for the team at Afno FM (Dadeldhura) as they wait for updated equipment, at times they struggle to keep on air with equipment that is getting old and not entirely fit for purpose. While the transmitter is waiting to be repaired after it was hit by lighting, we thank God for the temporary use of use another transmitter from a benefactor.

FRIDAY 13th March

Please join us in praying for a new radio station our partner is planning to launch in Chitwan in May. This will be the first radio station reaching the Chepang people in Nepal (the Chepang are one of Nepal’s most historic indigenous groups who until only recently lived a nomadic lifestyle). The radio station will be run by Chepang people. Please pray for this exciting opportunity to help the Chepang people feel part of society in Nepal and have the opportunity of hearing the good news of Jesus for the first time in their lives.

SATURDAY 14th March

Team members require training in technical skills, programme making, marketing and promotion. Please pray that our team members can be properly equipped ‘with everything good for doing his will’ (Hebrews 13:20-21). A member of the team at Okhaldhunga is due to give birth shortly, so please pray for her safe delivery and good health. Also, please pray for the programme she produces and for other staff to replace her.
