Just as Jesus cared for the whole person – body, mind and soul – our project partners in Nepal follow His example by addressing a wide range of issues with holistic solutions. Our partner radio stations at Afno FM, serve communities in Okhaldhunga (east Nepal) and Dadeldhura (west Nepal) sharing the Good News and the personal transformation that only Jesus can bring.

SUNDAY 17th July

We give thanks to God for Afno FM that celebrated 14 years of serving the community in Dadeldhura on 31 June 2022. Last year the team was able to reach around 80 families during the Coronavirus pandemic. This year the team is focusing on offering spiritual encouragement to orphans living in a Christian orphanage. Please pray for the team as they continue to serve and minister in the name of Jesus during these challenging times.

MONDAY 18th July

Please pray for protection for team members as they travel to isolated communities, especially in mountainous areas. Road conditions are often poor, particularly at the height of the monsoon season in July and August. Accidents involving overcrowded buses are common in Nepal. Please pray for safety for all those on the team who have to use public transport to carry out their work. (Deuteronomy 31:8)

TUESDAY 19th July

Afno FM produces radio programmes that deal with issues directly affecting people in the community. Please pray especially for those suffering with mental health issues and learning disabilities in remote villages in Nepal. Many feel as though they are trapped in a cage with no means of escape. Please pray their voices will be heard which in turn will help them receive effective support and treatment. (1 John 3:2)

WEDNESDAY 20th July

Religious conflict is an ever-present threat in Nepal, especially between Hindus and Christians. Sadly, Christian NGOs such as Afno FM are subject to threats from other religious groups from time to time. Please pray for wisdom in how to deal with this opposition in ways that will lead to greater understanding, harmony and peace between different religious groups in the country. (James 3:18)

THURSDAY 21st July

Now that the monsoon season has started in Nepal causing landslides, roadblocks, deaths and the widespread loss of property and businesses, please pray for people's safety and comfort for the families who have lost loved ones recently. (Nahum 1:7)

FRIDAY 22nd July

Please pray for many Afno FM listeners who are expressing interest in reading the Bible. Pray for the radio programmes that focus specifically on the Bible and how to apply its teaching in everyday life. Many would like to attend a local church. Please pray for courage and for opportunities for people who are exploring the Christian faith to join a local, Bible-believing fellowship of Christians. (Hebrews 10:24-25)

SATURDAY 23rd April

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Nepal has seen many cases of depression and other mental health issues affecting family life. Suicide cases are increasing in western Nepal. Please pray for opportunities for Afno FM to reach those who are vulnerable and protect them from harm, especially by listening to life-affirming, Christ-centred radio programmes. Afno FM has a particular burden to stay in contact with many Nepalese citizens who are flying overseas in search of work. Pray that through their online radio ministry, many will look for opportunities to do something to support their homeland from wherever they are in the world. (Hebrews 13:16)
