*Iraq FM produces community-focused programmes that helps to address issues facing the different neighbourhoods in the areas where they broadcast. Solutions are suggested from a Christian perspective which helps to bring understanding among people of different faiths.

TUESDAY 1st June

The team at Iraq FM is facing a number of obstacles to their plans - with other partners - to open a new FM station in a further location in Iraq. Please pray that doors will open soon for the gospel to be broadcast in this region. As we lift up this situation in our prayers, let's remember the parable of the persistent widow where Jesus shows his disciples 'they should always pray and not give up' (Luke 18:1-8).

WEDNESDAY 2nd June

Please pray for God's protection over the staff. As well as protecting themselves from COVID-19, the team has to be on constant alert from those opposed to them sharing the good news of Jesus on FM and via social media. We thank God for those who are receiving this news with joy and pray for those intent on persecuting Christians in Iraq (Matthew 5:44).

THURSDAY 3rd June

Leaders at Iraq FM and other Iraqi media organisations met with the Prime Minister of Iraq recently. During their discussions, the Prime Minister agreed to exempt them from having to pay previously high costs of the annual FM license. Unfortunately, the team has not received an official notification of this exemption. Please pray that the Prime Minister will follow through on his promises so that Iraq FM can continue to share the gospel and serve the people of Iraq.

FRIDAY 4th June

Please pray for Mena who listens regularly to programmes on Iraq FM. Pray that nothing would stop her from making a decision to follow Jesus Christ. Also, please pray for listener A and his family. Members of the Iraq FM team visited A's sick father recently and prayed for him. Praise God that A's father has made a full recovery and now all the family are listening regularly to the Christian programmes. The team has also asked us to pray specifically for Shadoman, Abeer, Ali, Sarah and Zahraa that God will speak directly to them as they listen to Christian teaching on Iraq FM this month.

Please pray for the people of Iraq today as they face huge insecurity and sudden increases in the cost of living. Elections that were due to take place tomorrow have now had to be postponed until October. Ask God to use the ministry of Iraq FM to play a key role in bringing reconciliation and an end to violence and unrest in the country.
