Our partners serving in India work to reach diverse audiences including women, rural communities, and young people. Programmes are produced and delivered at grass roots level in the languages of those listening. As local Christians share the transformation Jesus brings, listeners are encouraged to make positive changes in their lives. This week we are focusing particularly on Feba India’s Udaan ('Fly High') radio project which shares Christian teaching with youth and young adults, alongside content on social issues and income generation opportunities.

SUNDAY 11th December

Ravi* and Akaash* were so blessed by listening to the Udaan programme that they each decided to set up a listener group to give others the opportunity to listen and discuss the content. Please pray that many would be added to these new listener groups and discover freedom in Christ from addictions and bad habits. (Philippians 4:13)

The third of our 'Waiting in hope' Advent reflections is published online today, featuring the ministry in Iraq. Please click here to view the resources, including a short video.

MONDAY 12th December

Please pray for the complete healing of listener HC* from Bihar who is suffering with boils and fits. We thank God for the follow-up team working on the Udaan programme that provides counselling and prayer ministry for people like HC in deep personal need. (1 Peter 4:10-11)

TUESDAY 13th December

Listener Mohan* is differently abled. After his family abandoned him, he now lives alone in a miserable condition. Without his radio and being able to listen to the Udaan programme, Mohan would feel completely isolated and cut off from the world. Please pray that his family will open their hearts and welcome him back home. (Psalm 68:6)

WEDNESDAY 14th December

Many regular listeners to the Udaan programme have seen their livelihoods severely affected as a result of widespread flooding in the eastern region of the country. Please pray that they would find the strength and the resources they need to rebuild their homes and livelihoods. May they find comfort, camaraderie and practical advice and support from fellow listeners as they share their challenges on air and in listener groups.

THURSDAY 15th December

The Udaan radio project depends on an amazing team of volunteers and co-ordinators to stay on air. Please pray for these selfless people who freely give many hours of their time and skills to this ministry. Ask God for good health, protection and that He will supply all their needs, especially in these uncertain times. (Philippians 4:19)

FRIDAY 16th December

Please pray for all those responsible for producing, presenting and broadcasting the Udaan programmes. Ask the Holy Spirit to inspire them with creative ways to make the programmes relevant to local audiences while also finding ways to share the good news of Jesus, especially in this Advent time of waiting in hope before Christmas. (Psalm 130:5)

SATURDAY 17th December

This is often a busy time of the year for the response team as they engage with listeners over the phone and answer questions arising from the Udaan programme and other personal issues. Please pray that God would give them heavenly wisdom and just the right words as they engage in conversation with listeners. For those who have to deal with abusive callers, pray they would be given grace and patience to always respond in Christlike ways. (James 3:17)
