Our partner radio station in Egypt – Voice of Egypt^* – engages with urban young people, sharing the good news of Jesus and promoting community cohesion.  The station speaks about everyday issues that young people encounter in Egypt’s towns and cities. The team offers solutions from a Christian perspective - sharing the good news of Jesus and promoting community cohesion with listeners from a range of religious and political backgrounds. (The following prayer points are linked to some of the requests shared by our partner at the online prayer meeting in December.)

SUNDAY 8th January

Praise God that Voice of Egypt has 12 young people who are currently serving on the team and are passionate about sharing their faith with listeners of a similar age, but mainly from different faith backgrounds. Please pray for more Christian young people to join the team and enable the radio ministry to expand even further in the coming year. (1 Timothy 4:12)

MONDAY 9th January

Please pray for the team as they work on plans to build a new website and purchase new equipment to improve the sound quality of their broadcasting. Pray for God's provision as the team steps out in faith to explore new ways to reach young people and encourage them to participate in lively discussions about life's big questions both on air and online.

TUESDAY 10th January

We thank God for Mo^*, a male listener who has been a student of Islamic studies. Mo is engaging very well with the follow-up team and enjoying the conversations enormously. Please pray that as he continues to search and ask many questions that he will encounter the risen Lord Jesus and be willing to put his faith and trust in Him. (Mark 9:23)

WEDNESDAY 11th January

Please pray for Hos^*, a listener who is having regular conversations with the follow-up team. Pray for spiritual wisdom and understanding for members of the follow-up team as they engage with Hos and others who are genuinely searching for Jesus who said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me". (John 14: 6)

THURSDAY 12th January

We thank God for all the team at Voice of Egypt. Our partners speak of the love and care they have for one another and how they support each other like a family. Please pray that this unity of the Spirit and the bond of peace will remain strong, especially when facing opposition, discrimination and persecution for their faith. (Ephesians 4:3-6)

FRIDAY 13th January

The team is very resourceful and creative in their use of social media to engage with young people and share Christ's message of love, forgiveness and hope. Please pray for creativity as the team works on fresh ideas for a new Facebook page and other social media initiatives. (Exodus 35:35)

SATURDAY 14th January

Please pray for President Sisi that he would lead a government that acts justly and serves God's purposes across a nation that has many different cultures, beliefs and opinions. Christians in Egypt often feel vulnerable to persecution and marginalisation for their faith. Pray for the team at Voice of Egypt as they seek to create understanding and dialogue between people from different religious and political backgrounds. (Romans 12:2)
