Voice of Egypt* speaks about everyday issues that young people encounter in Egypt’s towns and cities. The team offers solutions from a Christian perspective while sharing the good news of Jesus and promoting community cohesion with listeners from a range of religious and political backgrounds.

THURSDAY 1st July

Please pray for all those working for Voice of Egypt*, especially those who have recently joined the team. Pray they will settle in quickly and have many opportunities to use their God-given gifts to bless colleagues and listeners alike.

FRIDAY 2nd July

We thank God for all the positive benefits of social media and how the team at Voice of Egypt* is able to use Facebook and other channels to reach out to young people with the good news of Jesus in ways that were not previously possible. Please pray for God's protection from any negative or destructive influences, remembering Paul's words in Ephesians 4:29, " Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen".

SATURDAY 3rd July

As advances in technology are moving faster than ever before, please pray for the team as they continue to learn new computer programmes and adapt Mobile Apps to make this online gospel ministry even more effective and secure for listeners.

SUNDAY 4th July

We have been asked to pray for one of the volunteers on the team called Moony* who is looking for a new job. Christians in Egypt are often marginalised and excluded when applying for jobs. Please pray for fairness, equality and justice for all those seeking employment, particularly in the midst of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic where jobs are even more scarce.

MONDAY 5th July

Please continue to pray for Ezz* who has been listening to Voice of Egypt* for a while and asking questions. Listeners like Ezz are often keen to engage in conversations to start with but then become fearful and fall away when they realise that following Jesus might cause them to be cut off and rejected by their friends and family. Pray for Ezz to have the confidence and trust to resume his conversations with the follow-up team very soon (1 John 4:18).

TUESDAY 6th July

Team member, Karina* has asked for prayer, especially for God's wisdom and guidance as she follows up a listener who has been very responsive and interactive recently. Pray that the Lord would speak through Karina by His Spirit and lead this listener to open his heart and put his faith and trust in Jesus.

WEDNESDAY 7th July

Please pray for Tito* on the follow-up team. Ask the Lord to encourage him and give him signs that his ministry is not in vain, remembering the words in Isaiah 55:11: "...so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it".

THURSDAY 8th July

The Egyptian government lifted restrictions preventing the spread of COVID-19 in early June. The country has more than 270,000 cases of coronavirus to date and has seen over 15,000 deaths. Please pray that the country can recover quickly from the pandemic, both economically, physically and spiritually.

FRIDAY 9th July

Across Egypt, but especially in the north of the country, Christians face both discrimination and intimidation, and yet they refuse to give up their faith. Egyptian law does not allow Muslims to convert to any other religion. This makes it especially difficult for new believers from a Muslim background when they start following Christ. In Egypt, as in many other countries in the Middle East, your religion is highlighted on your identity card, which makes it even easier to persecute and discriminate against Christians. Please pray for our Christian brothers and sisters remembering Paul's words in 2 Corinthians 4:8: 'We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not abandoned; struck down but not destroyed."

SATURDAY 10th July

Please pray for all the producers and technicians working for Voice of Egypt*. Pray for unity, creativity and the resources they need to maintain a seamless and effective radio service.
