Serving a Central Asian people's group, our partner project is broadcasting culturally relevant programmes addressing topics such as family, health, evangelism and discipleship. In a region that is predominantly Muslim, engaging with Christians is often dangerous. Despite the risk of persecution and severe penalties for sharing the Christian faith, we praise God that listeners are making contact with our partner every day to ask more about the good news of Jesus.

SUNDAY 21st June

Praise God that the number of callers to Feba’s partners FM stations in Central Asia has doubled since the Coronavirus pandemic started. With more people listening to the radio programmes, the team is finding that many more listeners want to talk about the messages they are hearing. Thank God for bringing this fruit in the midst of such dark times. Please pray especially for the listeners that have called recently to talk about their faith in Christ or shared in confidence and asked for prayer.

MONDAY 22nd June

Please pray for new believers from this Central Asian people’s group, many of whom are now scattered around the globe. This is the first-generation of this fledgling church, and many are learning how to be dependent on the Lord. Please pray that our brothers and sisters will start to ask how they can go through this situation as believers and become beacons of hope for their own people, especially to those who are despairing and feeling tempted to abandon their faith.

TUESDAY 23rd June

Please pray for team members who are allowed to travel short distances within the region to maintain media production, especially when so many listeners are tuning into programmes seeking trustworthy advice and spiritual encouragement. While travel exposes them to an increased risk of infection, ask God to keep them safe from the effects of Covid-19 as they continue to bless others with this ministry in Jesus’ Name.

WEDNESDAY 24th June

We thank God for the ways He inspires creativity and generously gives wisdom to all who ask (James 1:5). Please pray for the team in Central Asia that God would enable them to truly engage listeners with gospel messages. Pray for guidance as they use radio programmes to provide clear, accurate information about Covid-19 and point people to put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ.

THURSDAY 25th June

Please pray particularly for our listeners as they listen to the Word of God in these uncertain and challenging days. As they listen to programmes and follow messages on social media, may God speak to them and bring them into a place of faith through hearing His Word and seeing visions and dreams.

FRIDAY 26th June

Today, we remember believers who feel isolated and alone. Many are hurting and fearful about the future and how they are going to provide for their families. These new believers in Central Asia are just starting to learn what it means to be a follower of Christ in the midst of difficult situations. Please pray that our brothers and sisters receive discipleship through Feba’s partner radio station and become Godly lights for their communities.

SATURDAY 27th June

Please pray that the team can recruit and train more follow-up workers who can respond effectively to everyone who calls in to the programmes. Please pray for those currently working on follow-up, including those carrying out some on-the-ground visits. We thank God for all the interaction that is currently happening and pray that God will raise up new workers to engage in this vital ministry.

SUNDAY 28th June

Plans to start a new production team in Central Asia in 2020 have had to be put on hold because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Please pray the team will be able to restart the process as soon as lockdown measures come to an end. Unfortunately, this is not something that can be done digitally and will require some overseas travel.

MONDAY 29th June

The regional governments and populations across Central Asia are extremely worried about the effects of Covid-19 on their economies. Already more than 50% of the people live on or below the poverty line. For these people, lockdown is an issue of life and death. Many overseas workers are being sent back home. Please pray for God’s miraculous provision for all families.

TUESDAY 30th June

We praise God that lockdown has created opportunities to block out long periods of time to work on the scriptures. One team member has used this time to work extensively with another translator to make great advances with translating the scriptures. Please pray that this faithful work will bear much fruit in the months and years to come.

*For the sake of security, some of the real names and the name of the radio station has been changed.
