In the Pemba region, where the population is largely Muslim, there is a real threat of Islamic insurgency, which could spread nationwide. Just two months ago, barely 90 miles North of Pemba, an FEBC radio station was ransacked by Al-Shabaab. Thankfully, the station staff and volunteers survived because they fled into the woods.

Although the door remains open in this region for now, things may well change in the future. That is why we want to do all we can to enable the Radio Wimbe team to beacon of God’s love and peace to their community in these uncertain times – whilst they still can.

We will keep sharing messages of God’s peace and hope through our radio programmes no matter what. We are seeing our labour bear fruit as growing numbers of local people are responding to the good news of Jesus.

By supporting Radio Wimbe, you will be making sure that the only community station serving the three mostly Muslim ethnic communities - the Makonde, Mwani and Makua - stays on-air.

Together, through our prayers and generosity, we can help ensure that Christian radio ministry continues to serve some of those in greatest need. And, right now Radio Wimbe in Pemba, Mozambique needs our help.
