With shortwave and medium wave broadcasts as well as distribution on mobile phone cards, the Udaan ("fly high") series of programmes supports listeners in remote communities with a range of issues; from health to raising awareness of government support and human rights.

We met two listeners from Uttar Pradesh and they told us how radio has helped them make positive changes in their lives and outlook.

Meet Chatur and Lableet:

Our partners make a range of programmes to support listeners in India.  Producing content for different audiences including women, rural communities and young people, radio is being used to make change possible.

Outreach teams follow up the radio programmes by engaging with local communities, helping to address their issues and enabling them to raise their concerns through the radio programmes.

Using radio, whether live or recorded, listeners are empowered to make positive changes in their lives.
