Catherine Marsden joined us in April 2025. Emily Ansell, our Supporter Engagement Officer, sat down with her to find out why she joined Feba and what makes her tick...

Why Feba?

Catherine smiled, recalling people’s suggestions about Feba as a good match; that she had, “been intrigued by Feba’s creative and innovative use of audio media”. She shared her excitement as she, “read stories about how God’s word was being transmitted, capturing people’s attention” and how, after 10 years with Premier, it felt like a natural career progression.

How would you summarise your role?

“It’s about building the best possible team, each person using their talents, growing together rather than it just being about me”.

Is there a particular area of Feba’s ministry you would like to develop?

“To create something that demonstrates more people are praying. It’s a really exciting time to be joining Feba and I feel my role is to ensure we are equipped for growth”.

Tell me something we wouldn’t learn from your CV?

"My Dad was a German teacher, and I lived in West Germany during the fall of the Berlin Wall.” – An experience that had clearly left a lasting impression.

She also shared her passion for shaping and evolving ideas. My impression was that foraging for blackberries and crafting exotic delights ranks high on her list of talents!

I wanted to dig deeper, so asked: ‘what gives you joy’?

As Catherine pondered this, I reminded her that she finds joy in the ordinary and laughs, often. She replied “Guvna B used to work for Premier. In his leaving rap, he name-checked me, referencing my laugh!”

She then described ‘God moments’; “standing on top of an alp – gazing at the vast expanse of sky - feeling a profound sense of connection and clarity as I reflect on Psalm 121”.

As we wrapped up, I asked: ‘How can we pray for you?’

“Finding balance! In the day-to-day demands of work and home”.
