All over the world, our partners are spreading the good news of Jesus in their communities, and discipling those who start to follow Him. 

One person who has seen his life transformed is Vivaan* who first started listening to a radio broadcast in a rural part of India.

He began to write to the team at the station, and two years in, received an invitation to a listeners’ meeting. For three days, Vivaan worshipped and prayed with the team and was inspired by the faith-filled characters of these godly men and women.

Miracles

I realised that I was a sinner who needed to confess to God. I repented and accepted Jesus into my life and the very next day I was baptised. 

I went home with the gift of a book called, ‘Way to Salvation’. That year, I got married and one night, my wife was taken ill with terrible stomach pain. There were no doctors available. My wife asked me why I didn’t pray for her to be healed, so I did, and miraculously she was free of pain!”

Vivaan’s remarkable journey continued as news of the healing spread.

“People from the village began to ask me to pray for their sick relatives in Jesus’ name. My family and the villagers began to come to me to worship, and I told them all to listen to God’s word on the radio.

I wrote to the radio station to invite them to my house. They came at least twice a year, and I was so inspired as we listened to God’s word, prayed and studied the Bible. One of the staff encouraged me to apply to a Bible college. Now, I am theologically trained and in 2010 I began working with the local church.”

Overcoming hatred through prayer

Life was not easy for Vivaan, as the local people hated the church and missionaries. One night, he implored the Lord to use him to open ears so that lives would be touched. That prayer has been answered. 

These days he works for the Youth Project with our partners, helping to produce their content. The project focuses on young people between 15-35 in rural areas, sharing the life-changing message of Jesus in their own language. Programming covers a range of topics, and online Bible study groups help listeners to start deepening their own journey of faith, just as Vivaan has.

Becoming a Kingdom builder

Since he first started listening to our partner’s programmes, Vivaan’s life has been powerfully transformed and his prayer that he will be able to help others is being answered every day.

I’m so thankful to the Lord for the radio ministry He has given me. 

"He lifted me up when I was a zero and made me into a hero. I thank and praise God because before 2002, when I first heard about Him, my life had no purpose. Now the Lord has a design for my life, and He is using me to build His kingdom. I want to encourage and motivate everyone who listens to the Youth Project programmes or who comes to Bible study that the Lord loves them. Just as He has used me, so will He use them. He knows me by my name, and He has given me purpose.”
