Warm sunlight filters through the leafy trees in a small village in Cambodia, as people gather round a handheld audio device to listen. For the first time, they’re hearing words from the Bible spoken in their own language.

It can be hard for us to imagine the impact of this scene, when in the UK we have access to so much information, including hundreds of English translations of the Bible! But for many rural communities in Cambodia internet and TV aren’t available and literacy rates are low.

In this context, audio is an incredibly powerful way to communicate with people. That’s why our partner, FEBC Cambodia, are providing audio Bible devices through the Khmer Audio Bible Project so that listeners can hear, understand and deeply connect with the good news of Jesus.

Tevy* is one of these listeners who received an audio Bible. As he started listening to God’s word, his life began to change…

“Life in my village was quiet but inside I often felt empty and tired. I worked hard every day, yet I had no real peace in my heart."

One day I received an audio Bible. Soon the words of God began to speak deeply to me. The messages gave me comfort, courage, and a new desire to know Him more.

"As I listened each day, my heart started to change. I stopped worrying and began to trust God with my life. I learned how to pray, how to forgive, and how to care for others. Now I share the Bible stories and God’s love with my neighbours and family.

The audio Bible did more than give me a device, it brought hope and new life. I thank God for giving me this gift that fills both my home and my heart with His Word.”

Today, join us in praying:

  • For Tevy, that the Lord would continue to speak to him through the Bible and his faith would grow
  • We praise God for the power of His word to transform hearts and bring new life when it is shared faithfully through radio and other audio media
