Stories Latest Stories From empty to whole: Mohmed's* story In Northeast Africa, our partner is reaching the Nomad* people. With nearly all members of this nomadic group following Islam, it is extremely hard to share the gospel. The team use SD cards, containing a variety of biblical content in the Nomad language, to share about Jesus and they are seeing some amazing fruit... Something missing Mohmed, like most of the Nomad people, was a devoted Muslim but had begun to feel that there was something missing in his faith. Turning to prayer, he asked God to show him if Islam was the truth. Soon after, Mohmed met and befriended some Christians at his university, where he joined them in a fellowship meeting they were running. They talked with him about Jesus and Mohmed started listened to Nomad’s radio programmes on an SD card. However, his heart was torn between what he was hearing and his Muslim faith and fear of what his friends might think; I could not get this University fellowship out of my mind. It really haunted me. I confided to my Muslim friends, except that I didn't tell them it was a Christian fellowship because I was scared of what they might think. "Increasingly a great emptiness and depression enveloped me, emptiness like I had never experienced before. I couldn't sleep. I told my best friend about the fellowship. He said he remembered some Christian ladies who had spoken to him a few times, and thought they might be able to help me.” No longer empty The same day Mohmed met with the Christians his friend knew. They shared the gospel with him and gave him an audio Bible in his heart language. “They prayed for me, and that terrible emptiness began to lift and this huge load on me was taken away.” Continuing to attend the fellowship meetings, one night Mohmed was given an opportunity to receive Christ, but his doubts and fear prevented him. He left the meeting, but the Holy Spirit was still working in his heart. “I was so torn up inside. I fought the Holy Spirit and was trembling. I was walking out of the fellowship when I broke down crying on the sidewalk and said to myself, ‘I must go back to the prayer area where the people were getting prayed for to receive the Lord,’ and I did. God removed my burden and I started seeing everything in a new light. Soon I began sharing with friends and all I loved and knew. But God loves me and gave his Son for me so that I would never perish. I have never regretted becoming a Christian. Amazingly, Mohmed’s best friend received Christ on the same day in a different fellowship at the university! Pray with us Praise God for the way He is reaching listeners in the Nomad community through audio media That Mohmed would be able to see his family again, who live far away from him That the Lord would continue to strengthen and deepen Mohmed's faith *Name changed for security reasons Manage Cookie Preferences
