Spiritual lifelines

For many listeners who chose to follow Jesus, radio becomes a lifeline of support, as Ezra* in Northeast Africa explains:

“While serving in a military camp, I came to know the Lord. There was no church, and any form of fellowship was strictly forbidden. Radio became our only source of spiritual hope. It felt just like church to us. We prayed along with the radio. We sang when the songs came on. Many young people here are in the military, and a large number of them are listening to your programme. Thank you.”

“I became a believer because of the radio programmes.”

New life

Unable to read, audio media was the only way Roshni could hear the good news, and God used it to reach her!

There are very few Christians in her village, and she has faced opposition for choosing to follow Jesus. But through Afno FM’s programmes Roshni is continuing to learn about scripture and grow in faith. Both her daughter and husband have now also become Christians!

The Afno FM team continue to support Roshni and her family, and were recently able to visit her home, encourage her and give her a new radio (pictured).
