Multiple people and projects for prayer

Feba India works to reach different target audiences including women, rural communities and young people. They are also a partner in First Response Radio (FRR) with trained staff ready to be deployed in times of disaster. Join us in praying for them this week.

SUNDAY 21st May

Pray for a Community Engagement workshop taking place in West Bengal. Pray for the facilitators who will travel from Feba UK and from India. Pray that the teams benefit from the learning and community engagement experiences during the workshop and that this will lead to new opportunities for the radio production teams and the communities they are working with.

Today is also the Global Day of Prayer to End Famine.  More people face famine now than ever before in modern history.  Join the global call to prayer for millions who are starving or food insecure. Please find out more and join us today in prayer.

MONDAY 22nd May

In rural areas, a traditional form of self medication among women is to sear their skin with a burning hot metal rod. Pray for the Hamari Beriyan programmes that tackle this issue and which use drama to offer alternatives to this self harming practice.

TUESDAY 23rd May

Pray for the Delhi office team as they coordinate with local production teams for the Udaan and Hamari Beriyan programmes. Pray for safety when they travel to meet the teams or to meet with listener groups.

Girls are often made to go hungry and are not able to go to school in some rural areas in India, while the family’s income is spent on feeding their brothers and sending the boys to school. Pray for parents as they listen to the radio shows that encourage fair treatment and education for both boys and girls.

Give thanks for the volunteers and part time production teams working in Jaipur, Lucknow, and West Bengal. They are very creative and they are closely connected with the communities who hear the radio programmes.

FRIDAY 26th May

Pray for men and women who have been trafficked and forced to work in slave-like conditions and/or in sex work. Pray for them to receive encouragement through the radio programmes and through speaking with the follow up workers. Pray for freedom from their bonded labour and opportunities to be restored to their homes and families.

Pray for Kenneth, the Manager of the North India programmes, as he travels regularly for meetings with the North India teams while also taking care of responsibilities in the South India office. Pray for safety and also that he gets time to spend with his family.
