'I thought there was no God'

Three hours into a rural village meeting in India where Feba Delhi staff had been invited to share the Gospel, a young man arrived and said the meeting needed to be closed.

Assistant Audience Relations Officer, Rev Prakash Kumar, feared the man represented a nationalist organisation opposing the spread of other religions. But the man was requesting the meeting be moved to a larger area so that more villagers could attend and listen!

Chanderpal Singh was delighted. Born into a Hindu family, years earlier he had been searching for the Truth and a living God – but believed he had found neither.

Sifting stations on his radio to find entertainment, he found Feba’s Satsang programme. Satsang (meaning Fellowship with Truth) is a 15-minute long Hindi programme for non-Christians. It looks at what Christians believe by contrasting it with the Hindu faith.

Found at last!
Chanderpal believed he had found what he was really searching for. The next three years saw Chanderpal in frequent contact with Feba’s Audience Relations team for counselling and discipleship. After attending a seekers’ conference, Chanderpal felt blessed and, at his request, Feba staff arranged for his baptism.

Now, feeling the Holy Spirit’s presence, Chanderpal took up the challenge of witnessing to his family and holding listeners’ meetings in his village.

A vision takes shape
Chanderpal’s vision grew, and increasingly listeners came to accept Jesus as their Saviour. Feba’s team made further visits to larger sites to speak to the increasing number of non-Christian interested listeners.

The Word of God changed Chanderpal’s life, and he now runs a prayer ministry for the local villages.

Please pray for Chanderpal, his wife and child, for their financial needs and that God will use them in the teaching and extension of his kingdom.
