Escape from Chad
“Our technicians had been in Chad recording the New Testament in Sar for the past month and they were just one week to finishing when the war broke out,” says Theo Assare of Theovision International, a non-profit Christian organisation that records the Bible on cassettes in different indigenous African languages.
Theo continues: “They were caught in the middle of this fighting but we lost contact with them. We urged our Christian partners everywhere to pray for their protection and safe return home.” Feba received this message and began praying on 8 February 2008.
Over a week later, Theo received an update from the technicians: “We are doing well by God’s grace. The situation is very bad. None of the airlines are working. Mobile phone networks are also not working. All shops are closed because there is violence. We are thinking about how to come home. Our money is almost finished. Please continue praying for us.”
On 7 March 2008 Feba received this good news, “To God be the glory great things He has done. Our team that was caught in the midst of war in Chad are back home safely. Thank you for praying for us. God has answered our prayers.” You can read more about their ordeal in their newsletter.
