Mozambique is the focus in this episode. Development Director for Southern & Central Africa, Bob Bartz, and National Director of FEBA South Africa, Frik Veldman, talk to Mark Taylor about ministry vision for Mozambique.

They also discuss the just completed process of evaluating 47 separate ministry projects in the new 5 year strategic plan.

The revised mission of Feba Mozambique is:

Feba Radio Mozambique is an interdenominational, non-governmental and Christian Organization with the purpose of reaching unreached people in Mozambique by communicating the gospel and the teaching of the word of God through radio content and listener interaction in co-operation with the churches and other Christian partners.

The process of the recent summit in Mozambique included:

  • Establishing a current vision for Feba Mozambique
  • Reviewing all existing projects, checking how well they align with Feba Radio Mozambique's vision, and evaluating how effectively these projects are able to deliver the vision
  • Producing a prioritised list of projects, and
  • Agreeing specific further actions for Feba Mozambique to act upon with urgency

There are seven main threads to Feba Mozambiques 5 year strategy:

  • Listener responses should increase by 10% every year
  • 250 out of every 1000 responses come from non-Christians in 2009, increasing to 750 /1000 by 2013
  • As a result of FRM’s audience engagement, 5% of non-Christian listeners become followers of Jesus in 2009 growing to 10% in 2013
  • Maintaining strategic partnerships with 5 local churches to disciple listeners who choose to follow Christ in 2009, and increasing this to partnerships with 200 churches in 2013
  • Broadcasting in the mother tongue (heart language) of 8 Muslim background communities by 2013
  • Increasing the number of partner community radio stations airing FRM programs from 10 stations in 2009 to 25 stations by 2013
  • Improving our production in the existing 5 languages and increasing our broadcasts to include content in 16 hard-to-reach people groups languages by 2013
