Feba’s work in North East Africa cannot be openly identified for security reasons, but for years we have been involved in the region partnering with other Christian groups.

Feba broadcasts on short wave in 7 different languages to distinct people groups in North East Africa. Some programming is aimed at discipling believers and encouraging those being persecuted for their faith, whilst other broadcasts are aimed at people groups where there are few, if any, Christians among them and no indigenous evangelical church. They are intolerant of Christianity and resistant to the Gospel.

A large portion of these people groups are non-literate and come from oral traditions. Our programming enters into their storytelling culture and local religious style to bring the Gospel alive to them in a way they can understand. Broadcasts in their local languages as well as using Chronological Bible Storying are helping to open up a living faith to them and encourage their heartfelt commitment to it.

In parts of North East Africa Christians are persecuted and often imprisoned, and it is very difficult for groups to meet together. Two programme producers suddenly had to flee persecution in their country. Thankfully, elsewhere in Africa, they quickly re-established their vital lifeline of daily 30 minute programmes. They continue to sustain the suffering church ‘back home’ and reach out with the Good News.

One listener to their programmes writes: “I was listening to your radio programmes daily in prison and we were using them as a tool for evangelism. Many people came to the Lord.”
