Prayer Diary

THE HIDDEN CHURCH
  • Iraq The Feba Middle East team is celebrating six months on air with their own FM station in Iraq. Broadcasting on a community radio licence, they talk about issues that concern the local community. Members of the Christian community have dropped by to congratulate them.

Many churches are afraid to welcome Muslim-background believers into fellowship. Pray for the team as they encourage Christians as well as those of the majority community who are seeking spiritual truths.

  • Yemen Pray for the next recording session of Reality Church programme airing on Fridays in Yemeni Arabic. It demonstrates how to ‘be’ church by bringing men and women in the studio to worship using culturally appropriate songs, prayers and Bible study.

Pray that this will be a blessing to those who meet in home groups as well as to isolated believers who want to meet together, however, are afraid to meet with others, suspicious that someone present may actually be the secret police.

  • Middle East “The only Christian I know is a friend of Feba who arranges for me to come to his house on a regular basis to meet for Bible study and fellowship. I also speak with Souheil every week by mobile phone and text.

Please pray that I can find a Christian family in the city where we live, to be a companion to my wife when I’m away.”

  • Pakistan Pray for listeners to the long-running ZKS, Zindagi Kay Sung (Along with Life) programme in Urdu, designed for non-Christians. This covers social issues, world news, science, health and more. The teachings of Jesus are woven into the discussions of everyday topics.

Pray for the Next Steps programmes that follow ZKS, that listeners will find them to be stepping stones to faith. Church in my Home encourages new believers to form fellowship groups in their locality.

  • Afghanistan Christians here do not have freedom to worship openly or share their faith. Radio provides a sense of fellowship and strength for Afghan believers. The drama series Church in My Home , broadcast in both Pashto and Dari, models how to start and develop house churches.

Pray for follow-up staff as they respond to listeners who phone in after hearing programmes. Producers sometimes visit listeners, knowing the risks involved for all parties.

  • Central Asia Project Pray for the producers of the new Sunday to Thursday series Heart Companion, a magazine programme supporting the Christian audience, and for its related website for listener interaction.

Christians there need encouragement that they are not alone, as they often face persecution. The programme helps disciple the church, which lacks teaching and literature. It can be difficult to register a new church or meet openly, so house churches are very common.

  • Bangladesh Pray for listeners to the programmes for the majority population in rural Bangladesh. Bati Ghor (Lighthouse) uses Bible stories and discussions while Shantir Ghor (House of Peace) models a home church through drama.

Pray for believers who are starting jamats, self-replicating gatherings, in people’s homes to worship and fellowship together. Pray for new believers who may face threats and persecution.

Coffee Mornings and Frugal Lunches

Enjoy fellowship and refreshments, pray and give to Feba.

Get friends and local Christians together for coffee or tea, and biscuits, or a simple lunch, and introduce them to Feba. We will provide literature to give out and prayer materials to guide your prayer time together. Each person can give a donation for their drink or lunch to support the ministry of Feba. Please get in touch if you want to request resources or more information.
