What better way to start off the New Year than for staff to break from normal work activity and join together in a special Feba UK Staff Day of Prayer as happened on 6 January. “The day was fantastic,” says Jacqui Marshall, HR Officer. “It really refreshed and energised my prayer life, giving me new ideas.”
Val Rollins, Broadcast Manager, gives an overview of the day: “We began with a short reflection on how prayer can be grounded and how we can listen to God. We collected some Post-It notes on a wall with the topics that people wanted to pray into and grouped them in themes. In the middle of the day, we prayed around the various aspects of the ministry: Programme Content/Broadcasting, Finance/HR/Admin, Communications/Supporter Relations, Technology/Engineering/IT. As an exercise, some team members prepared a "prayer book" of prayers, images and thoughts.
“In the afternoon, we individually prayed through prayer stations, based on "faith builders" of meditations: Lord's Prayer, Psalm 24, John 4 as well as a collection of famous prayers as an opportunity to experiment with listening to God.
“We ended the prayer day with a short corporate act of commitment and praise. We each picked a stone to represent ourselves and brought our stones together to form a cairn. We offered a sacrifice of praise, singing together the great hymn How Great Thou Art!”
Please join us in praying for Feba. Prayer requests are listed on our web site at: http://www.feba.org.uk/praying
