New Media in 2009

With the New Year comes a bright new plan. The New Media Working Group and others at Feba UK will forge ahead in 2009 with website updates, new advertising strategies, fresh video, text messaging software and more.

Here are a variety of New Media activities in progress at Feba UK…

General planning

  • The New Media Working Group plans to meet weekly to consider new technology developments and how they can be used for Feba’s ministry.
  • Upcoming advertising campaigns include various elements that will tie in well together and enhance people’s awareness of Feba and their willingness to support ministry projects.

Web

  • The Spotlight Specialised English website has been updated to be more interactive with listeners. Check it out at: http://www.spotlightradio.net
  • More improvements are planned for the continued development of the Feba UK Supporters’ website www.feba.org.uk such as an audio library, more downloadable resources for churches and small groups, more video, etc.

Hardware and software

  • The engineering team are currently working to complete the first full batch of Chrysolite Mark 5 suitcase studios. Work continues on the development of the Mark 5 model to improve its compatibility with a wider variety of transmitters.
  • New text messaging software would be an effective tool for audience engagement. Feba UK is encouraging radio producers to take advantage of this, resulting in better listener follow-up.

Video

  • The Multi-Media Developer is producing a Feba TV ad to run on a few Christian TV channels in the UK. Our desire is to show how God is working through Feba’s ministry to the Middle East, and to spark interest so that people visit the website to find out more, make a donation and join our mailing list. This campaign will also be supported through web advertising on external Christian sites.
  • As they produce more video, the Multi-Media Developer and those filming at various Feba project locations are working to develop better skills and creativity.

Prayer Points

  • Pray for the New Media Working Group that God will guide them in the best use of resources in new media to communicate about Feba projects.
  • Pray for the Multi-Media Developer as he researches, trains and implements new media projects throughout 2009.
  • Pray for the Communications Manager as she networks with media vendors to implement plans and manage the budget.
