News about listeners in North East Africa illustrates the enormous lengths followers of Jesus go to in order to demonstrate and practice their faith.

One man travelled over 700 miles from his home to be baptised after choosing to follow the Lord. Having responded to Feba’s programmes heard on the radio and cassette, he feared for his life from family and friends.

Another young man is now held captive by his family to prevent him coming into contact with Christians. He secretly sends his brother to let the church know that he is well, and to ask them to pray for him.

The stories are even more remarkable coming from a region where 95 per cent of the population are animists (believing natural objects have souls).

As our programmes are heard over the airwaves, producers receive requests from the listeners for longer broadcasts so that topics of interest to them can be addressed further. As a result, broadcasts time has increased from 15 minutes to 30 minutes daily.

Our international partners report that people in the area are following our broadcasts with interest, and our programmes help them to hear and understand the Word of God.
