John Bartlett, who joined Feba UK as Chief Executive on 1 December 1999, will serve his last days at Feba this week, he says: “It has been a privilege to see Feba change and grow and also to see how my own walk with the Lord has developed in this time.”

He continues: "I see so many mission strategies that have clear application in our own post-Christian society that we need to feed back into the home church. Mission is hard work, sometimes agonising, but just so much fun. There is nothing on earth as thrilling as hearing or seeing people becoming believers in Christ. I am genuinely sad to be leaving but I know that I must be obedient to the Lord’s call.”

As previously announced in September by Feba Board Chairman Roger Bellamy: “John feels that after nine years as Chief Executive, and having been heavily involved with the board in developing the strategic direction of our ministry for the next 5 years, now is the time to hand over the leadership to someone else who, under God’s direction, can take forward that new strategy.”

John Bartlett completed his 9th year at Feba this month. We are thankful to John for his dedicated leadership through some key changes:

  • Guiding Feba through the decommissioning of the Seychelles short wave transmitter station, moving us from centralised to distributed short wave broadcasting from multiple transmitter locations and to greater use of medium wave and local FM.
  • Supporting Mike Procter’s Specialised English programming and seeing it succeed on over 60 stations around the world.
  • Slimming down our administrative overheads in the face of rising costs to protect ministry projects around the world.
