FM Malawi needs your urgent prayer support

Last minute difficulties continue to frustrate going on-air in Malawi (see 5 December News brief). Differences in the way the actual broadcast licence conditions are being interpreted by MACRA, the licensing authority in Malawi, and the project partners, have prevented us from beginning transmissions. Urgent negotiations have been taking place this week in Lilongwe, the capital city of Malawi.

Mark Taylor, Feba UK’s Assistant Director, says: “I don't say this lightly, but it is patently obvious to me that this station is a clear and present danger to Satan, and these last-minute problems need to be covered with the faithful prayers of believers.”

Once we have reached a solution acceptable to MACRA and all the project partners, transmissions will commence with as little delay as possible. The Station is completely ready to go on-air and we have several hundred hours of pre-recorded programme content available for the first phase of broadcasting.

Prayer Points

  • Pray that a godly solution for how the licensing conditions are being interpreted and applied will be agreed very soon.
  • Pray for wisdom for the Station Manager (Buks van der Merwe) as he interacts with our partners, and works to get the station on-the-air.
  • Pray for Feba South Africa’s Frik Veldman, who is tasked with the overall management of this Station Project.
  • Pray that we will soon be able to report that the station is on-air and that the broadcasts will have an immediate resonance in the hearts of those who hear them.
