In Mombasa, Kenya, Feba’s Baraka FM community station estimates they have about 80,000 Muslim listeners, that’s over 50% of the daily listening audience.

While listeners know Baraka FM is a Christian station, they are drawn by the way Feba applies biblical teaching to help build healthy families and communities.

Baraka FM has shown love and practical support to both Christian and Muslim listeners by raising funds for special causes, and they have also taken the initiative to encourage peaceful dialogue between Christian and Muslim leaders.

For the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, Baraka FM programme presenters have developed two special programmes to be broadcast during the first and last week of the fasting month. These evening one-hour programmes will have a talk-show format with guests discussing prayer and fasting. Phone lines will be open so listeners can call in with questions and comments to participate in the dialogue.

Baraka will also highlight this topic by airing short (30-45 seconds) spots on prayer and fasting several times a day during the month.
