Dadeldhura FM on full power

On Thursday evening, 13 November, Aafno FM (My Radio) Dadeldhura broadcast for the first time over its new 50W transmitter beaming from the newly erected 100 foot tower. Our partner SP says: "The local people are really excited about the radio. Rejoice!"

Sean MacKenzie, Development Director for South Asia, says: “We are praising God here for his blessings and faithfulness. In less than an hour people were calling in to say they were hearing us for the first time, some from a long distance away.

Tower erection began a few days earlier with a dedication service onsite, lead by the local church pastor at a sod-turning ceremony as the whole project was, once again, dedicated to the glory of God.

Thanks to all for your prayers and faithfulness in support service in so many ways.

Aafno FM Dadeldhura is now on air 4 hours a day with a view to extending both the quantity and quality of programming in the months ahead."

Prayer Points

  • Sean also shares: "I would appreciate personal prayer for healing of my back since my recent accident at home. I fell backward when the chair back broke and I landed hard on a metal box on the floor behind me. Currently I am making progress but it's very painful."
  • Now that Dadeldhura is complete, pray for the team as they move immediately to work on the station at Okhuldunga in eastern Nepal.
  • Pray for Vijay, the CoRIN Project Co-ordinator, that he will be sensitive to the staff and their needs and will move the project forward with efficiency and a clear vision of God's purposes for the radio initiative.
