Broadcasting Easter blessings into Asia

“I received letters from listeners, in which they share about blessings and want to know more about Jesus. We are getting good responses from the listeners,” says Benjamin of Feba Delhi. He enjoys the Easter season when he can openly discuss the meaning of the cross and talk about the power of the resurrection.

He produces the programme, Vandana, for the majority-population, listening audience (non-believers). Benjamin continues: “I announce my mobile number at the end of the programme. I am amazed that listeners immediately call for prayers, literature and Bibles. Praise the Lord. He is doing wonders among the people.”

Tibetans in north India
“We have made special programmes for Good Friday and Easter for our Tibetan listeners, to share about the death and resurrection of Jesus, and God's plan for salvation of mankind,” says Anil Alfred, Director of the Gaweylon Centre. Each programme offers listeners literature and CDs on the life and teachings of Jesus.

Good Friday topics include:
- How Good Friday is celebrated around the world
- Resurrection and Life (death, suffering and resurrection of Jesus)
- How the cursed story of the cross became a blessing

Easter topics include:
- How Easter is celebrated around the world
- Necessity and blessing of Christ's resurrection and crown of thorns
- Easter the greatest sign

Bangladesh
“We always produce fresh content in both our Rural Bangla programmes. For our morning discipleship programme, we have special episodes for a full week to cover Good Friday and Easter Sunday. We will tell from the Scripture about the death and resurrection of Jesus and what is significant in our spiritual life,” says Sayed, Project Coordinator.

In the evening programme for the majority audience in the area, he says: “We have two discussion programmes on the death of Christ and the resurrection. We will emphasise the misconception about the death of Jesus using Bible and the Koran. We will show several references from the Bible and the Koran that nobody else but Jesus Christ has died on the cross as the fulfilment of prophesy.”

Nepal
Vijay, Coordinator of the CoRIN project, works with the staff at the Aafno FM stations in Nepal. He says: “We will be having a short programme on Easter. Our radio is happy to broadcast any Easter programme produced by the local church in Dadeldhura and Okhaldunga.“
