During Ramadan, some of Feba's programmes broadcast in Pakistan have featured discussions on fasting, based on teaching from the Bible.
Zindagi Kay Sung (Along with Life), Sach ka Safar (Journey of Truth) and Box 318 are Urdu-language programmes. Urdu is Pakistan's official language.
Zindagi Kay Sung (Along with Life)
In this daily Urdu magazine programme, presenters discussed how fasting promotes and teaches:
- Contentment which can ease economic burden difficulties
- Patience to bear difficult and tough situations
- Self control which can create reconciliation and love
- Harmony in place of differences among individuals, families and groups
- Charity, sharing resources with others
Sach ka Safar (Journey of Truth)
In this weekly programme on Saturday evenings, the presenters addressed
these three questions.
- What is fasting?
- How many days have been fixed for fasting in Christianity?
- What should be the intention (Neayat) for fasting?
Box 318
In this weekly letter-answering programme, the presenters focused two programmes on Isaiah 58 regarding the purpose of real fasting.
As the month of Ramadan comes to an end, many Muslims will gather together to celebrate Eid ul-Fitr (literally meaning festivity to break the fast), dressing in their finest clothes and attending a special community prayer event. They enjoy visiting family and friends to share best wishes, food and give gifts.
