Are you ready? Can you hear to roar of the crowd and see the stream of colour as people wave their national flags?

The time for the XXIX Summer Olympic Games in Beijing is almost here. Feba UK’s IT Manager Pete Ellis is seconded to our partner, 2K Plus International Sports Media, to help report on the Olympics from a Christian perspective.

We’ll be receiving first-hand reports over the next 4 weeks from Pete and staff from our sister organisation FEBC. Programme materials from FEBC on the Olympic Games are already in use in radio outreach to China at over 40 hours daily.

2K Plus and FEBC at the Beijing Olympics

2K Plus is a UK registered charity that works in partnership with other organisations to promote a Christ-centred lifestyle to sports fans around the world using radio, print and the internet. For example, they will interview sports people who are committed followers of Christ and report on moral issues in sport such as honesty, gamesmanship, etc. Websites: www.2kplus.org.uk and www.planetsport.tv

The Chinese Programming Team of FEBC is in its top gear in preparation for the coverage of the Olympic Games August 8-24, 2008, among which is the radio drama Pure Gold, the biography of CIM veteran missionary Eric Liddell, an Olympic champion of 400 metre sprint in 1924. OMF graciously granted FEBC the copyright to produce and broadcast the life of Mr Liddell. A translation of the book in Simplified Chinese is being published in China, and it is available in the Christian book stores there. Website: www.febc.org
