Following her recent visit to Nepal, Feba’s Development Advisor, Marina Santee, describes the difference a radio can make…
Christmas in South Asia
“Just to let you know, we had an early Christmas programme celebration in Nepal on 10 December. It was held at the heart of the capital of Nepal where over 20,000 people attended,” says Vijay, FM project coordinator. “There were Christmas songs, poems, dances and the Word of God message from a pastor.” This is just one of many exciting things going on in South Asia this Christmas.

Christmas by radio to the hard-to-reach
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas… perhaps in the West. Most of the places where Feba and its partners broadcast, Christmas is not a national holiday. In fact many Christians must celebrate this joyous occasion of Jesus Christ’s birth in the privacy of their homes.

What’s new in ministry to the Middle East
We’ve all read plenty of news about the chaos in the Middle East. Thankfully Feba’s radio producers are presenting lots of news and interesting stories to encourage their listeners. Feba’s William Mateer also caught up with a former Feba Middle East programme producer at a women’s conference in Ireland.

Sending radios to communities in Nepal
Radio is making a difference in very practical ways in many villages throughout Nepal. Thanks to you who participated in the save a life, send a radio campaign that finished in December. Because of the money raised through send a radio, the teams at Aafno FM in Dadeldhura and Okhaldunga, Nepal, have been distributing hundreds of radios as part of their radio ministry throughout 2011.
Prayer Points
- Pray for Vijay as he coordinates the CoRIN project (Community Radio Initiative in Nepal) with a local healthcare partner. Pray for them as they are planning the next steps in starting another Aafno FM station.
- Pray for the Aafno FM team in Okhaldunga, Nepal, as they continue to develop relationships with listeners, and pray that the newly installed solar panels will resolve their power issues.
- Pray the Aafno FM team in Dadeldhura, Nepal, as they visit with listeners to find out how their radio distribution project is helping the community and as they put together programmes for their community every day.

South Sudan: Africa’s newest country
When it separates from North Sudan on 9 July, South Sudan will become the newest country in Africa. As you’ve heard in the news there’s still much instability in the border regions and much uncertainty about the future of both countries. So what does this mean for those ministering there?
Prayer Points
- Pray for Mekonen to seek God’s wisdom as he coordinates the radio projects. Pray that he, his family and the producers and their families will be safe.
- Pray that God will guide the programme producers as they can put together radio programmes during this time of transition, meeting the special needs of listeners.
- Pray for Sudanese Christians that the rights of all Christians, particularly those in northern Sudan, will be respected.
- Pray that there will be an end to violence throughout Sudan.
- Pray for church leaders to be led by the Spirit as they exercise their ministries at this time. Pray that the church may stand firm, being salt and light in the land and for God's kingdom to come to these two countries.
- Pray that the South will receive appropriate assistance to support those displaced from Abyei, Darfur and other areas of conflict.
- Pray that the governments of Sudan and South Sudan will rule justly for the benefit of all citizens.

Mozambique: life-changing hope – you can bring it!
"The north of Mozambique revolves around two industries, tourism and fishing,” says Bob Bartz, Feba’s man in Mozambique. “Their lives revolve around the water of the bay and their livelihood depends on it.” The north of Mozambique suffers from poverty, conflict, corruption and disease.
