Training of Trainers in disaster response radio

Floods, drought, cyclones, earthquakes, avalanche – such disasters frequently cause massive loss of life and property in India, especially among the poor and vulnerable. To help radio and relief people understand each other’s work and collaborate during disasters, FIRST Response (FR) India recently participated in a FR Training of Trainers, workshop and field trial in north India.

Living as suppressed and inferior citizens, many women worldwide have little control over their own lives, their social structures or their circumstances.

Prayer Points:
Pray for women around the world who are suffering. Pray that they will hear about the hope of Jesus Christ.
Pray for programme producers to think of creative ways to promote women’s issues.
Pray for women to be able to reach out to programmes’ audience relations staff for support and relationship.

Easter programming in India and Pakistan

“Festivals like Easter provide an opportunity to proclaim the Gospel through the local radio with much more emphasis. The festival is celebrated by many who actually have no clue about the significance of Good Friday or the joy of celebrating the resurrection of our Lord,” says Kenneth, Head of Programming at Feba India.

Prayer Points

  • Pray for the programme producers that they can effectively communicate the Gospel as the opportunity presents itself during their programmes.
  • Pray for those who communicate with the listeners who call in or send SMS messages that they can begin new relationships, answering questions with genuine love and respect.
  • During this key season, pray for people to be drawn to listen to the programmes, many of them presented in the local heart language of specific people groups.
