The Feba Middle East radio production team is very excited with the latest instalment of Reality Church, the short wave programme broadcast in Yemeni Arabic, a discipleship series teaching new believers how to ‘be’ church (for those who cannot go to a public church). A few weeks ago the team recorded 34 new segments, that are now in post-production editing.
Jerry Wilson says: “I was very happy a few weeks back when our latest recordings of Reality Church came together. Souheil (our Yemeni producer) has been busy networking and arranged for several other friends to join him having fellowship, praise and demonstrating church by being a small fellowship in a recording studio.
“Once again we kept away headphones and tried to be as discreet as possible with the microphones to attempt to take away a 'this is radio' feel. During the two weeks we recorded 34 new sessions which we will make into 30-minute programmes for Yemeni followers.
“The thing that was extra special this time was that all of those taking part used to follow Islam. Altogether we had 7 people, more than half originally from Yemen and others from Israel and Egypt: 2 females and 5 males. We have long desired to have more Yemeni's so this was wonderful. I don't know how familiar you are with the region or the tensions; but to demonstrate unity in fellowship and be witnesses for Jesus in this was very powerful."
Prayer for the listeners As you read these SMS text messages sent from listeners to the short wave programmes, pray for them that the radio messages will transform their lives, that seekers will find the truth and that new believers will be encouraged and discipled.
- “Brother Souheil, hope all is well! I don't know how to relate to the church and what is the role I should play. I’m open for advice! I told many in my work place that I am a believer.”
- “Please send me any device with a big enough memory to store the Bible and I'll pay.”
- “I continue to follow your programmes. I was unable to contact you though because of poor cell phone coverage due to the war going on.”
- “Brother Souheil, thanks for asking. We're going through a tough time: no job, no nothing. We have none but God and you. We count on your messages of encouragement.”
- "Whoever seeks any religion but Islam; Allah will not accept their religion. The word of Allah is true.”
- “I know that the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are one like a candle that gives us flame, light and heat. They have distinct jobs though. What are these jobs? What do they mean to us? I would appreciate your quick comment on the radio.”
