The team working with People Group S in the Horn of Africa region have requested that we pray for a special workshop to be held this weekend. They give thanks as they report “that the workshop will gather the newest 40+ believers from among the people group.” The workshop will end with baptism for the new believers.

Only up-and-running since March 2009, the programme is produced for People Group S in the Horn of Africa in a style that the Muslim majority population enjoys. Cultural stories and songs enhance the Chronological Bible Storying, as the storyteller ‘drinks coffee with the family’ and narrates the story. Appropriate songs are woven through the broadcasts.
Akmal (not his real name) is a People Group S believer from a Muslim background who kept his faith a secret for years. Though people in his village can be antagonistic to the Gospel, Akmal saw this change when the radio programmes started in his own language. Now his part is to go to his relatives carrying his radio and when the time comes, he tunes to the radio programme and all his Muslim family quietly listens. He says they like the radio programme because it is the only programme they can find in their language on the radio or other media. He believes that the programmes will bring change in the lives of listeners. Most listeners he meets say the songs and stories are very good.
