December 1st is World AIDS Day. Every year, the Day has a special subject and for 2008, the theme is leadership. Feba's Spotlight programme producers have developed a special programme called Religious Leaders and HIV (spoken in Specialised English).

A sudden rain downpour in Malawi on Tuesday afternoon (25 November) flooded water into the generator room and the Malawi FM studio leaving a layer of mud all over. This occurred just weeks before their planned on-air testing phase date of 17 December.

John Bartlett, who joined Feba UK as Chief Executive on 1 December 1999, will serve his last days at Feba this week, he says: “It has been a privilege to see Feba change and grow and also to see how my own walk with the Lord has developed in this time.”

On Thursday evening, 13 November, Aafno FM (My Radio) Dadeldhura broadcast for the first time over its new 50W transmitter beaming from the newly erected 100 foot tower. Our partner SP says: "The local people are really excited about the radio. Rejoice!"

Feba India’s FIRST Response team completed their special radio programme for the flood-affected people of Bihar, India on 21 October. They are now continuing to address listeners’ rehabilitation needs in their regular programming.

With the help of their Mark 2 Chrysolite suitcase studio, Feba Mozambique staff members have managed to get the Radio Muthyana FM radio station back on air.

Our partner FM station Radio Muthyana in Maputo, Mozambique was taken off air last night, following an armed robbery in which a lot of transmission and studio equipment was stolen. We thank God nobody was killed.
