Feba is a Christian broadcasting agency which is changing lives through radio by broadcasting hope in many different languages to Africa, Asia and the Middle East. We aim to meet the spiritual and practical needs of our listeners—encouraging them to live lives marked by knowledge and hope in the face of ignorance, fear and despair.
Culturally relevant programmes
Wherever possible our programmes are produced by Christian nationals who share the same culture as their audience, and appreciate the same values and traditions. Programme content includes:
- Bible teaching
- Testimony
- Drama and song
- Family issues
- Healthcare
- Agriculture topics
Feba UK is one of eight autonomous Feba organisations which often work in partnership with many other organisations, both in programme production and listener follow-up. We receive regular feedback from listeners by letter, phone, text message, email and visits in person. Listener feedback includes requests for:
- More information about the programmes
- Literature, including Bibles
- Prayer
- Answers to Bible questions
- Sharing their personal stories or spiritual experiences
Why radio?
Radio is the main form of communication in many of the countries we broadcast to, especially for people isolated by war, natural disasters or lack of resources. Radio reaches people in countries where political, social or religious barriers make it difficult for individuals to learn about alternative views or ideas—including the Christian faith. In places where illiteracy is high, radio speaks to people who cannot read or write.
Broadcasting for decades—still relevant today
Feba started broadcasting in 1970 from our own radio station in the Seychelles, initially to India. In 2003 we took the bold step of decommissioning the station and expanding our horizons and broadcasting opportunities. Today, we use a number of different radio stations throughout the world.
Our ongoing ministry is dependant on donations from individuals and churches, legacies and grant-making trusts.
